Version 1.18 of SafetyGrid is available for download. Recommended for users of all previous versions. SafetyGrid 1.18 is a maintenance release. Fixes include a fix for checkins (introduced in version 1.17) and simplifying the setup screen by disabling the GEOS contact fields except for subscribers of the GEOS service.

The ability to describe the type of help you are requesting will be included in the next version 1.18 slated for early to mid December timeframe. As always this will be a free update via the app store.

While we highly recommend that you utilize as many options for contacting people, we certainly recognize that some contacts will not have both an SMS or voice phone.
If they only have a mobile phone that accepts SMS, use the same number for both entires in the contact. If they don't have our you don't want to utilize a specific type of number, simply use 555-555-5555 as the number and our system will ignore that entry during the alarm.

There are 2 types of contacts for SafetyGrid at the moment. SafetyGrid Contacts are entered in the Contacts Screen (the third menu option at the bottom of the screen). Here you can invite contacts manually or add portions of their information from your existing address book.
There are GEOS contacts as well (Places for 2 of them) in the Settings Screen. These are NOT used unless you subscribe to the GEOS monitored alarm service.
We recognize this is confusing for some and as such, we’ll look to changing this in the future. The next shipping version of SafetyGrid version 1.17 already simplifies this process by actually taking you to the screen you need to be on in order to enter the information. We expect version 1.17 to be released on the App store before the end of the month.
